Student-Led Wellbeing Conference encourages students to be their authentic selves
Our Student-Led Wellbeing Conference hosted by Knox and Ravenswood 2023 took place on Friday 9 June and what an incredible day it was. We saw 43 schools come together to share, talk and collaborate on wellbeing strategies for students in their own schools.

The inspirational Martin Heppell from the Resilience Project empowered students to be their authentic selves, to be kind, empathetic individuals who can be mindful and recognise what we have.
Our student leaders spent the last six months researching and designing educational and impactful workshops across 13 topics. These included, mental toughness, resilience, sleep, inside the teenage brain, motivation, self-regulation and more.
Group activities saw students from different schools connect throughout the day, while lunchtime activities spanning mindfulness, gratitude wall, chess and basketball stations saw action and reflection.
Knox Grammar Wellbeing Prefect Hugo Walters emphasised the importance of being receptive to the skills shared during the Conference.
" The micro-habits you learn today could really make a difference to your wellbeing and that of others in your school community," he said.
The day was a refreshing reminder of the passion and abilities within our students to make impactful choices in designing their own wellbeing, and advocating for the wellbeing of others.
Knox Headmaster Scott James said: “The Student-Led Wellbeing Conference exemplifies the true essence of a well-rounded education. The ability of students to take charge, inspire their peers, and drive positive change is a testament to the strength of character and leadership qualities instilled in our young people through their respective school experiences.
“The impact of the Wellbeing Conference will extend far beyond the event itself. It sparked meaningful conversations and encouraged students to prioritise their mental, emotional and physical health. The knowledge and skills imparted during the conference will empower students and undoubtedly contribute to the overall wellbeing of their respective schools.”
Thank you to all those that helped the day come to life and to all our attendees.
