We wish to share our condolences with the family of Brian Buggy OAM (8 October 1939-30 July 2024).
Knox Grammar School
Mr Buggy served as the School’s Director of Music between 1975-2007 and was involved with the Old Knox Grammarians’ Association (OKGA) until as late as 2017.

Mr Buggy wrote and composed the School song, which has become part of the Knox tradition for generations of boys. He also wrote the settings for the Prayer of Preparation and Prayer of Confession.
In 1998, Mr Buggy was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for services to music, particularly in the areas of theatre and youth Orchestras.
He was also the conductor of the Sydney Youth Orchestra Philharmonic from 2007, and was named Conductor Emeritus in 2021.

“We were motivated to invent a tool that would help the community and society, by making an application not just for us students,” said Daniel (Year 11). “From what I’ve observed, our Student Administration Officer takes a lot of phone calls about student absence, and she could have more time to be focused on more meaningful tasks.”
