The power of storytelling was at the heart of our 2025 Junior Play, ‘Stories in the Dark’, which was held in the Drama Theatre in the Junior Academy Performing Arts Centre.

“Thomas is a 12-year-old boy who is lost in a war-torn city and meets a 16-year-old girl named Anna who tells stories to give him comfort,” says Will (Year 8).
Through various worlds of play and childhood tales, the performance took the audience away from the darkness at night and into a magical world full of ogres, kings, and wolf-mothers.
“What was unmissable about 'Stories in the Dark' is that it’s a shift between worlds, to use your imagination to bring hope into dark times,” says Oscar (Year 8).
Congratulations to the Years 7-9 cast and crew of students from Knox, Abbotsleigh and Ravenswood School for Girls. They were applauded their enthusiasm and ingenuity in bringing this period play to life.
