In celebration of the numerous cultures that comprise our boarding community, last weekend families were invited to our annual Back to Country event.

Prior to Back to Country, Stage 6 international boarders Henry Shao (Y12, Sichuan, China) and Joey Lin (Y12, Fujian, China) collected data from their fellow boarders to create a fact sheet about the boys’ backgrounds. As well as this data, they recorded photographs of their hometowns.
Henry said that he and Joey wondered what they could do with the array of photos and decided to create an impressive coffee table-style book showcasing their work.
“It gives a deeper understanding of what these places look like,” Henry said.
While investigating the data, the boys also uncovered fun facts about the boarding community, writing: “For the local students, more boarders came from Tamworth than any other suburbs.
“Steaks, pizzas, and sushi are foods that are loved by the boarding community as a whole.”
